There are many opportunities to develop and enhance your creative juices at Maryborough State High School, from singing or playing a musical instrument in one of our many musical ensembles to meeting new friends and building your confidence and skills in drama, visual arts and/or dance.

Instrumental Music

Students that participate in our IM program will be involved in either the String Ensemble, String Orchestra, Concert Band, Stage Band, 2022 Orchestra and/or Percussion Ensemble, which rehearse once each week.

Dance Troupe

This is a group of talented and committed dancers that display their skills and creativity in a range of performance opportunities such as Spring Soiree and Maryborough SHS Dance Night as well as competing in a range of local and regional eisteddfod competitions.

Singing/Vocal Groups

At Maryborough State High School, we have two singing groups.  Firstly, our School Choir that is open for everyone to join and come along to find their voice.  More experienced vocalists have the opportunity each year to audition for the Vocal Academy, set up for individuals that want to potentially pursue singing or music as a career option.

Drama Club

Drama Club offers students the chance to improve their acting skills as well as develop their self-confidence speaking and presenting work in front of a live audience.  Students get the opportunity to perform in the MSHS's annual Drama Night or School Play.

Visual Arts

As well as accessing Art studios during lunch times to work on curriculum activities, students can join our craft (Boomerang Bags) group or lunchtime drawing groups to further enhance their artistic skills and meet new friends.
