Sporting Academies
As part of our development of our students, we provide opportunities for them to excel on the sporting field. The school has carefully selected a number of sports for Development Academies in Football, Hockey, Rugby 7s and Rowing.
All of these sports provide chances to improve and develop, bringing those skills into other parts of their lives. All four of these areas provide opportunities at an elite Olympic level, for both boys and girls.
Rugby 7's
Along with the chance to enhance their rugby skills through targeted training in a competitive environment in class, academy students will have the opportunity to compete in a number of carnivals across South East Queensland throughout the year. There is also lunks with Queensland Rugby Union.
Hockey
The hockey academy provides great opportunities for students to work with Hockey Queensland representatives and provides talent at the state and national levels.
Football
As part of our football opportunities students are able to compete annually in state and nationally recognised competitions and have presviously excelled in these fields on a number of occasions.
Rowing
Rowing is a sport which all students come to with requirements around developement. Fortunately, we promote this growth mindset in our students and are able to work with Rowing Queensland and the Wide Bay Rowing Club.
Basketball
As our latest academy, basketball will provide a unique platform for an emerging sport in the region towards the Brisbane Olympics in 2032.
