Digital Classrooms and Technology

Maryborough State High School embraces Digital Technology in the classroom to help provide skills and build confidence for our future leaders and workforce. All classrooms are equipped with either a data projector or large screen television and are used every lesson to assist our teachers delivering content and curriculum via a digital platform.

The school prides itself on its well established and productive “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOx) program which sees over 90% of the students in our Junior school commit with predominantly but not limited to, iPad devices.  An iPad provides a versatile and reliable device which is more affordable than most Laptops on the market.  The rollout of our BYOx program will see all year levels be part of the digital revolution over the next couple of years.

BYOx devices are used daily to complement student learning, they are also used as for their digital textbook storage device with the ability to download resources from Jacaranda Online.  The school continues its ongoing commitment in providing Professional Development for staff as engaging student learning with ICT is one of Maryborough SHS’s key priorities.

For specialty subjects and equity opportunities, Maryborough SHS has multiple computer labs across the school enabling students to access as well as pods of laptops available in the Hub.

As part of the school’s curriculum program, many classes use OneNote as their online organisation tool as teachers can share work with students and each other.  The students also have access to OneDrive which is cloud based storage where the each student can store up to 5 terabytes of data they can access on multiple digital devices.  It means your child can see their work on any linked device and they can collaborate in the cloud.
